July 23, 2020. 2:30 pm PST   |   Duration : 1 hour

This dance class is a Somatic-based practice that utilizes Laban/Bartenieff Fundamentals. We will use these tools to help individuals use their body/mind connectivity in order to find comfort and stress relief.  There are three parts that make up this dance class: first is a guided exploration led by the instructor; the second is an improvisational exploration, and the third is a reflective exploration.

Kathryn is a recent graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California with a B.A. in Dance and Communication. During her final year of school, Katie conducted research to see if the movement can be a healing tool when undergoing trauma and/or stress. A part of this research was developing different movement explorations that would help individuals heal, and Katie is excited to share them with you.
